Celebrity doppelgangers: Shraddha Kapoor, the Indian Khaleesi

Apart from Ellaria Sand (Indira Varma), and the three dragons (created by an Indian subsidiary of Prana Studios – a 3D animation and visual effects company), Game of Thrones has no other Indian connection. However, one of the leading characters, Daenerys Targaryen, a.k.a Khaleesi, played by British actress Emilia Clarke, reminds us of Bollywood beauty Shraddha Kapoor. Both the actors are in their 20s and are of petite frame. The first thing you notice about them are their bewitching eyes; their eyebrows, smile and expressions are uncanningly similar. Clarke, the smokey-eyed actress has been named the Sexiest Woman Alive by Esquire. She is also GQ’s Woman of the Year. The iconic series has made her a household name, even landed her the role of Sarah Connor in Terminator Genysis, which was released this year. Clarke, who dared to bare for Game of Thrones, turned down the role of Anastasia Steele in the movie Fifty Shades of Grey, for fear of being considered typecast. The role was eventually played by Dakota Johnson. Shraddha Kapoor, who made her Bollywood debut in 2010 with Teen Patti, has 9 films to her credit so far, the most significant being her role in Aashiqui 2, for which she got nominated for the Best Female Actor award. Like Clarke, Shraddha too has been listed among 100 Sexiest Women in the World by FHM India in 2013.
